We take the protection of your personal data seriously and treat it confidentially in accordance with the revised Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (revFADP) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This statement applies to the course portal kurse.dirkschulze.ch.
1. What data we process
1.1 When visiting the website: Technical data is logged automatically (server log files: IP address, date/time, page accessed, referrer, browser identifier), exclusively to ensure operation and to defend against attacks; deleted after a maximum of 30 days.
1.2 Registration & course account: For course participation and the issuing of certificates we collect: salutation, title, first and last name, e-mail address, date of birth, place/country of birth, citizenship, place of residence and a hashed password.
1.3 Course participation & examination: Within the learning platform, course progress, examination results and issued certificates are stored.
1.4 Uploaded documents: Documents you upload (e.g. proof of qualification) are processed for review and archiving as part of the course administration.
1.5 Paid bookings: When you book, we collect invoicing data. Payment processing (credit card, TWINT) is handled by our payment service provider Stripe; complete card data is processed exclusively by Stripe and is not stored by us.
2. Purpose of processing
- Running and administering the courses and examinations
- Issuing certificates of attendance and course passes
- Payment processing and invoicing
- Ensuring the operation and security of the IT systems
- Compliance with statutory retention obligations
3. Legal basis
Processing takes place for the performance of the contract (course participation), on the basis of our legitimate interests (operations, security), to comply with legal obligations (accounting, retention) and – where required – on the basis of your consent.
4. Recipients and transfers abroad
Hosting: Infomaniak Network AG, Rue Eugène Marziano 25, CH-1227 Les Acacias (GE), Switzerland.
Payment processing: Stripe Payments Europe Ltd. (Ireland) and Stripe, Inc. (USA). For payments, data is transferred to the EU and the USA; Stripe ensures an adequate level of data protection through recognised mechanisms (including standard contractual clauses).
Your data is not passed on to other third parties without your consent.
5. Retention periods
- Server log files: maximum 30 days
- Account, course and examination data: for the duration of the course relationship, thereafter in accordance with statutory retention periods (generally 10 years under the Swiss Code of Obligations)
- Invoicing/payment data: 10 years (Swiss Code of Obligations)
6. Your rights
You have the right at any time to access, rectify and delete your data (where legally permissible) and to receive your data in a common format. Please send requests to ds@dirkschulze.ch.
7. Cookies
We use technically necessary cookies (login session, shopping basket, CSRF protection). As part of the payment process, Stripe may set cookies for fraud prevention. There is no tracking, no profiling and no advertising.
8. Data security
All connections are encrypted (TLS). Passwords are stored exclusively in hashed form. Access to account and course data is restricted to authorised persons.
9. Right to complain
You have the right to lodge a complaint with the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), Feldeggweg 1, 3003 Bern.
